Marcus & Beams Coffee is a registered fictitious name of Marcus & Beams International LLC, of Lititz, Pennsylvania (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal information we collect through marcusandbeams.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
What you tell us. When you fill out a form or write to us, we receive what you enter: your name, email address and message. On our sample form, that can also include your company, ship-to state, approximate green coffee volume, the programs and grades you are interested in, and your cup preferences. If you call us or message us on WhatsApp, we receive your phone number and message.
Technical data. Squarespace, which hosts our website, automatically records standard information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and the site that referred you. It uses cookies for this, to keep the site secure and to produce visitor statistics.
Spam protection. Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA, which collects hardware and software information to check that a person, not a bot, is sending the form. Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to that check.
How we use it
To reply to you, send samples, quotes, term sheets and agreements, and manage our business relationship with you.
To keep the website secure and to understand, in aggregate, how it is used.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share it with
Vortex Hive Ltd, our sister company in Kenya, when it needs your details to prepare or ship samples, quote lots, or act for you at the Nairobi Coffee Exchange.
Service providers that run parts of our business for us: Squarespace (website, forms and statistics), Google (email and reCAPTCHA), and the carriers that deliver samples.
Authorities, when the law requires it.
Where your information is kept
Our website and email are hosted by providers in the United States. When Vortex Hive Ltd handles a request for you, the details it needs are also handled in Kenya.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies that it needs to work and, if you allow them, cookies for visitor statistics. You can accept or decline the optional cookies in the banner when you first visit, change your choice at any time with the Cookie Preferences button, and block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no common standard for how websites should respond, so our site does not currently respond to it. We do not track you across other websites.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiries and business correspondence for as long as we need them for our relationship with you and for tax, accounting and legal records.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop emailing you. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can also ask us to restrict or stop using your information, ask for a copy of it in a portable format, and complain to your local data protection authority. We rely on our legitimate interest in answering business inquiries and on steps you ask us to take before entering a contract.
Children
This website is for businesses and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, but no website or email system is completely secure.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
